As a cognitive psychologist, I am interested in how people acquire and consolidate information to make inferences about their environment. To elucidate the processes underlying the choices people make, I use a combination of empirical methods -- designing and conducting controlled experiments -- and formal tools -- employing Bayesian statistics and mathematical models based on principles of reinforcement learning, probability theory, and differential equations. My research thus far delves into the following three areas.
